  • Roy P Mock Draft

I'm new to this board. My HoustonProFootball.com site recently bit the dust, so I've decided to come here to talk football. I thought that I'd share one of my Mock drafts that goes 4 rounds. Wow, I only looked at the Bears picks, and if it falls that way, I would be extremely happy. RB/QB/WR and 2 OL is perfect in my book.

In your scenario I would see them taking Albert in rd1 and the Choice at Rb with the 2nd rd3 pick. No way they pass up flacco in RD2 if hes there.
    Bears offseason wish list:

Jay Cutler, I am good, for now.

11 BILLS WR James Hardy- 2nd round player at #11, can't he happy about that
41 *BILLS CB Patrick Lee-With Flowers on the board, F
72 *BILLS DE Jason Jones-Like it
110 *BILLS TE John Carlson-Like it, but rather have Martellus Bennett

Also we only have 1 3rd now

No chance of Jeff Otah dropping to round 2. IMO.

I think if the Texans took a CB in RD1 they would take Aqib Talib, and in RD3 if he was on board probably John Greco to play tackle and then probablly a RB or LB depending on value at time.

I'm surprised to see so many Gholston #1's all of a sudden.

I gotta like anyone who's avatar is Antoine Cason.

                That being said...

Gosder Cherlius is a distant 3rd option for the Giants, behind Kenny Phillips/Reggie Smith and an impact Cornerback. Considering how that first round fell out, Reggie Smith is the best option, or trading down.

We do cover all the other bases though, nice work.

I'm a big fan of WRs Hardy and Caldwell and obviously have them ranked higher than most "experts" do. Caldwell would be a "reach" but would give McNabb something to be happy about. Most people thought Kolb was a strange pick for Phi. The Bills have been known to buck the trend (remember Dante Whitner and McCargo?). Patrick Lee also has more speed to play CB in the NFL than Flowers, so I kept that in mind. Hardy is a big target once Lee Evans gets the Bills in the Red Zone.

Flacco is the perfect QB for a team like Chi. He's has the arm to throw in that type of wind.

I put Otah in the 2nd round because I like Nicks much better. Otah in my opinion is not nimble enough to be a LT and is probably more like Shawn Andrews in the NFL (RG).

Being a Texans fan, I cringe whenever I hear people discussing the possibility of Aqib Talib. Bob McNair is big on character and is probably frowning at that option. Personally, I don't like what I see on the field.

Gholston has been my #1 for quite a while. Like I mentioned this mock was done a few weeks ago. I just get the feeling that this guy is going to remind Parcells of L.T. and Ware.

I chose Cherilus for the Giants to move Diel back to Guard eventually. Also, Coughlin has ties to BC. Chris Snee not only married the daughter, but attended the correct school. The need for S is there, but with Tyrell Johnson, Josh Barrett, and even Dowayne Davis as possible candidates later on, I don't see them going for a S with the first pick.

Everybody has an opinion and yours is valid. I'll probably be updating it this weekend. What I will say is that my mock is based upon my player rankings and understanding of GMs and coaches around the league. I'm not simply going to say that Keith Rivers is going to the Saints because 85% of the other mocks do.

That would be great if David Diehl were a right tackle and the Giants didn't possess excellent guards.

Gosder Cherlius is not a left tackle in this league by any stretch, and that's where your logic fails, Roy.

I got a dead OT in round three (#87). Fits for the Lions imo.

Same. It should all shake out once the contract crap is over.
