No, that is a thing Tomlin does right. He always keeps at least 8, usually 9.

    • The Texans are apparently paying half of Clowney's salary this year. How the hell did BOB get this much power?

Something like 7 mil for the Texans and 8 mil-ish for the Hawks.

He's probably one of the better backups in the league. Don't think he's a 16 game starter though.

I don't know if he is or not. I guess the Colts will find out.

                  • 5 year, $50M extension for La'el Collins. ~$20M in the first two years, another $15M in injury guarantees. Frees up $5.7M this year for Zeke and/or Dak

Two players DAL took risks on paying it back with team-friendly deals. So weird having a competent FO now

6 years. $90M. Yowza. Obviously theres a lot of funny money there and only the cashflow through 2021 or 2022 matters. Still, damn.

I hope the Cowboys were able to protect themselves in the contract.

Jaylon's deal had a deferred roster bonus that prorates to a signing bonus which helps lock in the '21 and '22 years. Zeke and La'el probably have similar structures.

That said, you can make the case that all three of these guys should've been lower priorities than Dak, Amari, and Byron

I'm worried about what kind of contract Dak is gonna get. It could be a killer. Both he and Amari should take less than top 5 money imo. I think Jones is gone after next year.

                            • 4 year extension for Goff. Appears to be for about the same as Wentz (~$32M). Guessing Dak comes in right around there as well.
