  • Hilarious E-mail I Received

Almost every week I have checked your draft board and you have had us taking DM which is fine except you have some smart ass remark to make about the Raiders organization. Don't get me wrong, your not in the minority, there have been writers and fans that have hated the Raiders from day one. Your response will probably be something like well look at their record sine the superbowl loss. Ok won't argue that because its a fact. Here is another fact for ya and the many Raider haters out there. The colts are regarded as one of the leagues greatest teams and when they are discussed its always positive unless your a Gaytriot fan. Did you know that until that last superbowl win the Colts hadn't won a superbowl since 73? I bet you didn't. Its to easy for me to tell you how many times we have been in the superbowl since then and how many afc championship games we have played in since then. I will let you research that little fact and when you find the facts from your research, I urge you to reconsider how you look at the Raiders organization and how you write about them. I just think its funny how all of a sudden guys like you want to lump us in with the Lions and Cardinals. What decade were those two teams in the superbowl last huh? I don't know why writers can't see the Raiders as a team that had a bunch of old guys that made a run at the superbowl and came up short and have been rebuilding for the last 4 seasons. We are headed in the right direction and if we get a player like DM it will help us out a lot. Personally I would like to see us take the DT from LSU but he will probably be gone. With that being said, hit us with some facts and not wagon band comedy when you discuss the Raiders. ONE NATION, RAIDER NATION!

Hmm, he doesn't mention anything about Al Davis spending boatloads of cash on mediocre players...
    Forgive me I'm Swedish!

I got a lot of hate on a Raiders message board.

LOL I'm officially a "Raider Hater."

Probably the most clueless fan base in the NFL. Right up there with Falcon fans (no offense scar, but it is true).
      2014-2015 Kentucky Wildcats (38-1)

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

There are worse things to be in life. I'm a "Raida hater" too, but it probably has more to do with being a Broncos fan.

Changing the topic a little though, my 2 sleeper predictions (and by that I don't mean super bowl glory, but 2 teams that will do better than their win 'over') come out of Cali. SF (still on last year's bandwagon, refuelled by Martz) and Oakland could potentially shock a few people. I know OAK overpaid for a few questionable guys, most of which seem to be coming off injury, but remember this is the AFC West. Denver is pretty weak at the moment and KC is fast becoming the favourite to have the number 1 pick next year. If they can halve with SD 4 wins from their 6 division games isn't out of the question.

I don't see OAK doing anything, and sadly, SF will stink again as well. Mike Nolan is ruining the franchise.

to bad Oakland doesn't have a second rounder. I would love to see Russel with McFadden and Early Doucet.

A little off topic here, but do you guys think that teams like the raiders really have a choice but to overpay for mediocre players? all things being equal, for the same salary, most guys would not play for al davis or move to oakland. They almost have to pay huge sums of money to get players to try and rebuild the reputation and become competitive again.
                Bears offseason wish list:

Jay Cutler, I am good, for now.

McFadden's really going to help a lot. It's always good to have at least 5 running backs on your team, especially when there is no line to block for them.

Maybe that was from a relative of Al Davis.

You could always run that Notre Dame offense from the 20s.

                              Maybe, maybe not.

But taking Robert Gallery instead of Ben Roethlisberger or Phillip Rivers was entirely within their discretion.

Ray Lewis has suffered enough, Commissioner Paul Tagliabue of the National Football League said in a conference call yesterday in explaining why he did not suspend the All-Pro linebacker who pleaded guilty to obstructing justice in a murder case.

''It's the courts who have the primary responsibility in this case,'' Tagliabue said. ''We're not a substitute for the courts.''

''The offense was a misdemeanor; he had no problems before that and hadn't violated league policies,'' Tagliabue said of Lewis's guilty plea to a misdemeanor charge of obstructing justice in a deal with Atlanta prosecutors, who dropped murder charges against the Ravens star.
