  • Day 1 after thoughts

Well I'm reasonably happy with my own teams draft, and in general heres my views.

Buffalo had for me the best draft. With Kansas City runners up.

The likes of Detroit, Cincinnati, Baltimore all showed why they are a mess with some bizarre choices, and will back early again next year.

Best choice today for me would be Dorsey to the Chiefs, worst would be Jerome Simpson to the Bengals.

Best move the Eagles robbing the Panthers.

Biggest reach Joe Flacco, best value, Limas Sweed at the end of the second to Pittsburgh.

Steelers had a great draft too. They just laughed at all the dumb GMs.

    Titans are dumbasses too

I don't see how the Steelers had a great draft. Rashard Mendenhall isn't even going to make it to the line of scrimmage with defenders swarming. Limas Sweed won't get a single catch with Roethlisberger on his ass all game.

I don't see the big deal with Joe Flacco now. Out of all the QBs, he had the most upside. J-Rock went #1 overall, last year. Flacco goes 19. He'll have time to develop and I could easily see him working out. Ray Rice could easily be the best running back in this draft.

The Steelers struggled without Willie Parker and giving him a breather during games with a different type of back coming in helps the Steelers a lot. Ben also gets a bigger receiver to play with, makes a change from smaller guys like Ward, Holmes etc.

Flacco may develop, but in the near future at least the Ravens are going to struggle immensely. Flacco won't be ready till 2010 at the earliest.

Like I said, he won't make it to the line of scrimmage. Oh awesome, we just put our eggs into the WR basket. Let's take the guy who didn't play last year.

Why are we going to struggle? We have an awesome defense. Two touchdowns will win us the game. Why does he have to wait two years? Do you know Flacco? You have no tangible proof for this.

Dude the guy played DI-AA and couldn't beat out Tyler Palko who got cut by the Saints in training camp last year at Pittsburgh. Extremely raw, but good potential, that will take a couple of years to nurture at the minimum. I highly doubt a 5-11 team improves after drafting a scat back and a project QB.

If you have a good QB and then add a WR different to what you have then an impact will be made.

Joey Ganz couldn't beat out Sam Keller but he's still awesome. These things happen. It's not impossible for a coach to have a commitment to a QB because of recruiting and such.

You obviously aren't familiar with Baltimore drafts. Day 2 is where we make our living. And we got a hell of a lot of picks. I guarantee we will not be 5-11 or worse again.

I thought Sweed was a 1st round lock
I thought McKelvin would go in top 10 (eh, 11 but still)
                      Donnie Avery 1st WR, WTF?
                      Flacco 19. HAHAHAHA

Coming up against the AFC South, NFC East, Pittsburgh, Cleveland the only teams on your schedule who I think you can possibly win against are Cincinnati, Oakland and Miami and there isn't any guarantees there either.
