  • Bears 1st pick good or bad?

Bears took OT Chris Williams with their first pick of the draft. I know he was the one they wanted to get but do you think Jeff Otah or Branden Albert might have been better picks?

It was a great pick, but unfortunate for my Lions. It's because of this pick that the Lions traded down and got Cherilius. We needed an OT real bad and Williams would have been picked if the Bears did not.

He will immediately help the pass blocking, and taint on the right side helps pass and run blocking b/c he is a right tackle. Williams needs to hit the weight room to make any impact in the run game though.

Maybe benson in danger of being cut, in the angelo era we only usually keep 3 rb on the roster, and now have 4. it has to come down to benson or the short worthless guy we took last year in rd3.
        Bears offseason wish list:

Jay Cutler, I am good, for now.

Hey bears fans, why did y'all cut Darwin Walker?

I'm not sure how I should feel about CAR picking him up. Apparently they were on the phone with him all weekend and that would explain why we passed on virtually every DT in this draft.

He had a pretty big cap number, and was hurt all year and sucked at stopping the run. I liked him as a pass rusher though to back up tommie harris. Mainly $$$ reasons I believe.

okay good, I'm worried about Damione Lewis as a starter - sounds like he and Walker can share time at that spot

Williams was perfect. We know John Tait is better on the Ride side. Picking williams for the left means we get 2 positions (tait to RT) for one pick. No one knows if Otah or Albert will play LT.

Yeah not sure what happens. Benson cost to much to cut IIRC. What we do with our RB's is interesting.

                    Benson: Bum
Adrian Peterson (The bad one): IS cheap and good on Special Teams
Garret Wolfe: Why draft him to cut him next year. He is supposed to be the change of pace speed back.

In a perfect world we cut "I don't need to prove myself" benson. Then after that we fire Ron Turner who insist on running little Garett Wolfe up the middle.

                    Nebraska Cornhuskers

Wants: O-line, Tall WR, and a 3 tech.

Wolfe can stay as a little 3rd down back, catches well and good in the screen game. Forte gets to be our boy now, and AP gets to stay just for special teams/price/ and a solid backup. Benson needs to go, or better yet, get hurt again so we can put him on IR and maybe he will retire. I hope Barton can play guard to move inside, then our line is at least average again.

                        Better than Otah and Albert.

i hope they keep garret wolfe, he's not too bad.

benson just sucks. damn cap hit... that is why i hate rookie first round contracts... they affect teams badly, might cost wolfe or peterson a job. or forte.

Why would we cut any of these guys? Peterson is a ST stud and we'd carry him for that reason alone.

He was complete garbage last year. If he was even serviceable last year we would have kept him. He got completely washed on every play. At least we recognized the mistake and cut him.
