  • Reese on Woodson

Just heard Reese on the radio and they discussed Woodson. Reese mentioned the amount of production from Andre in the SEC while not having a great supporting cast at Kentucky. He emphasized his calm demeanor and how he does not get rattled and compared him to Eli in that manner. He said he was there much value to pass up at that time. He will compete for backup qb. He thought he fell because of the senior bowl and said he does not feel all star games should hurt players but only help. He mentioned how the coaches tried to change his mechanics and Andre was trying to appear coachable. He mentioned Kiwinuka fell because of the senior bowl.

He was very surprised Phillips fell to them mentioning a drought of safties and is very happy with the pick.

Woodson had a very good supporting cast, but his OL was terrible his whole career. He is a blue collar QB (pun intended), Giant fans are going to love this player, especially when he gets traded for a 1st round draft pick.

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

LOL... whatever, as a Giants fan I feel better about Woodson than David Carr.

although I would hate to see Lorenzen get cut but I think that is going to happen. Hefty Lefty is a HUGE (haha pun uintended) fan favorite in NY...... if we cut him I hope we make up some bull**** coaching position so he can still clog up the sidelines.
          NY Giants fan since birth.

Woodson was a bigger fan fave at Kentucky because he won bigger games...and after all it is about winning games.

Woodson will be a great player. Honestly I think that being drafted by the Giants could be a blessing in disguise. He needs some time to fix his accuracy and word has it their QB Coach did wonders for Eli. We will see.

No, it's all about eating cheeseburgers, and J-Load takes the cake in that category my friend.

Seriously though, this pick only makes me hate the pointless Carr signing even more. Hey, if this Woodsen turns into a higher round pick for us down the road, it was well worth it then.

Yeah, don't get me started either. Woodson has the arm, poise, and decision making to be a QB in the NFL. That's what you call "IT". Look at the tape on him. Find an interception in a 325 pass attempt stint. Find a fourth quarter against a top 10 team where he didn't lead his team to a win. Find a guy with more TD's in a speed rich SEC in one season (40).

Did you find him? Didn't think so, so don't come at me, Matt, or any other person with that bull s***.

The Toronto Argonauts need to start grooming a young QB.

Yeah that record was really awesome. Who held it before him? I think his name was Brent Kilfer or something like that...

I can find games where he lost his team the game. (Mississippi State.)

Every QB has bad games. Every game Henne played was bad except Florida.

South Carolina and Mississippi State had really fast defenses. Also, Kentucky's defense lost the game more so than Woodson. How did Matt Ryan not lose the game against Michigan State? Florida State? Virginia Tech (second game)? I can come back with the same argument.

The least impressive game for me of Woodson's was versus Georgia. Yeah it was in a very hostile environment against a sick defense, but many of his throws were off and if Kentucky got up big early (and they should have) I think they would have had a much better chance of winning that game. Woodson's accuracy was very bad, and I was disappointed.

That said, on the road versus one of the best defenses in the country. Nuff said.

Woodson didn't choke against teams like Michigan State (Matt Ryan).

BIG PLAYERS MAKE BIG PLAYS IN BIG GAMES.

4 comeback victories? 2 game winning throws against top ten teams?

Oh, my bad... 31 NFL teams, armies of scouts, millions of dollars, miles of tape...and he goes in the 6th round, after about 10 other guys. so hes got poise, and a big arm and got lucky that some DB's dropped picks in 325 pass attempts...oh man, watch out for this kid..cant hit a barn point blank and takes 9 years to make that good decision and deliver the ball. In the NFL that means he gets sacked a lot.

There have been thousands of good college QB's that didnt translate into the NFL game. Starters in the past 5 years that came out of rd 5 or later..hmmm...we got brady,garcia,delhomme,bulger.. probably missed a few, so out of all the QB's, we got 4. and only 1 of those strikes fear into any defensive coordinators. Odds are stacked against you buddy.

I am not hoping bad things on him. We are all entitled to our opinions. It is ludacris to say he is such a stud when he hasnt proven ****. I liked Drew Tate when he was at Iowa, never was i disillusioned into putting his bust in canton like some guys on here are saying about Woodson.

If these scouts know so much then someone please justify Chad Henne as a 2nd round pick.
