  • NFL's Biggest Surprises

Well what are the five biggest surprises in the NFL? Well I have a few.

    1) Chargers Offense- Well Norv's defensive coordinator's coaching sucks which consistantly gives the offense bad field position and he is trying to have Quarterback Philip Rivers be a player he is not ready to be. While trying to push Rivers he neglects his horse. Running Back Ladanian Thomlinson is the best runner since the prime of Marshall Faulk and he can not get into a rythum because he doesn't get the ball. With those two being used incorrectly their offense will continue to cease production.

    2) New Orleans Offense- Overconfidence? Dropped passes? To be honest I am really not sure what the problem is and neither do the so called experts. Every one seems to have a different opinion. One thing has to be the Defense. It really puts the offense in a bad spot on the field. Another is WR Devry Henderson. He drops too many passes. Joe Horn wasn't a typical #1 naturally (Speed, athletic ability, etc) but he could pull in a ball from almost anywhere. He fit that offense well and was a good leader for a young recieving core. Three the quarterback is getting impatiant after the fist game that they were dominated by the Colts defense. These are a few reasons but they seem to have a few more they need to address as well.

    3) Packers Start- Many knew the Packers would have a formatable defense but I did not expect their offensive line or recievers to play as well as they have. A.J Hawk is leading an athletic and smart defense that can all go sideline to sideline and hit like a ton of bricks. They also have a great secondary led by their Corners. Brett Favre looks like it's 1996, he is playing with the enthusiasm we had grown to love from him again and leading this team the way he did in his prime.

    4) Derek Anderson- Who the heck is this guy. Five poor starts in three years and he thinks he is Dan Marino. Well he doesn't have that awareness that Marino did which leads to him turning the ball over but the guy has a great arm and is accurate. He has earned his spot in this league, time will see if he keeps that spot.

    5) Texan's Defense- Houston set their base last year with MLB DeMeco Ryans and DE Mario Williams. Ryans was a beast last year as a rookie but Williams was never healthy. Now with key additions of men like DT Amobi Akoye the defense has other teams talking. This good season is just the beginning of what could be one of the best units in the league for years in my opinion. If they keep up their play the Texans may sneak into the playoffs.

Honorable Mention: Chargers Defense (Bad), Browns Offense (Good), Brett Favre (Good), Colts Defense (Good).

I did not include the Bear's Defense because it is only flopping due to injury, and Tony Romo because I felt one bad play is not making you a bad player that will Surprise people.

Colts defense will get EXPOSED against Tampa Bay.

A little weird to say. I say the Bucs have at least 175 yards rushing vs. the Colts.
      2014-2015 Kentucky Wildcats (38-1)

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

        #2 surprised me a bit.

#4... Derek Anderson!? He didn't even complete 50 percent of his passes in college.

It's just crazy seeing Favre playing with greyish hair, and playing out of his mind. He is an incredible athlete, no doubt about it. He is playing much better, probably another pro bowl for him, alos because he has a good team around him. Thier not going to go away either.

It's kind of like Roger Clemens, isn't it? He's 45 and getting it done. Favre's playing the best football of his career at 38. How do these guys do it?

Roger Clemens Hate that guy when he left the Redsox. Brett Favre is playing like he 25 years old. I say he will win all games.

Exactly. Whatever Romeo did to light a fire under him I would like to know. For the Brown's sake I pray he holds off Brady Quinn. I love Quinn but he needs time to develope. Think Kitna/Palmer. Quinn may never be a Palmer but he needs time and hopefully Anderson will give it. He is a shock more than a surprise.

                    WALTER

There are a few reasons as to why these athletes maintian thier level of competativness on such a pro level.

#1 They stay in such incredible shape in the off season and go above and beyond to compensate to keep thier bodies in shape.

#2 Thier sheer will to still love the game and have the passion for the game. Thier high demand for money probably is a nice incentive too.

#3 They also probably have incredible jenes. Probably on some type of mutant level, maybe similar to Wolverine from X-MEN or Claire from HEROES.

I wish the Browns had Wolverine at defensive end.

Appreciate you giving some love to our defense. We've really just bonded together. Were a band of brothers. Okoye and Williams have been great on the defensive line. Ryans is solid like always. And Von Hutchins has been a pleasant surprise. I'm on pace for 93 tackles, I told you I'm having my break out season. Me, as well as the rest of the entire defense, have been film sharks. And I don't want to take any crap for that Steve Smith play! He is basically a walking muscle! Much harder to tackle then anybody really knows.

On a negative note, we did really have to give Travis Johnson a yelling. Those comments he made were just completely uncalled for and reflect VERY poorly on our defense, our team, and our entire organization.

C.C., I'm glad you don't approve of Travis' yelling. I think he should be fined.

                              So much for that prediction.

Colts defense is for real, I'll admit it. It really is annoying though at how good the Colts offense is.
