I read that he'll be fine though. It just sucks for him. It shouldn't affect his career at all.

Yeah, one of my good friends has Type-1 Diabetes, and he's pretty much fine except he needs to watch his blood sugar and take some medication.

              Oh crap.

Well it doesn't really affect his playing status now, but come 60 years of age he'll have all kind of things wrong with him. Poor Spock.

He just has to take an insulin shot every day, and watch the sugar. Wont effect his play unless d-lineman smear chocolate all over thier jerseys.

Jay Cutler, I am good, for now.

A kid on my team has type one diabetes. Occasionally he sits out s play and takes a sugar pill. Doesn't effect his play at all though.

That really sucks for him, cutler and nnc's player, to have it so young. Isnt it rare for athletes to get diabetes?

Type 2 diabetes is generally linked to obesity and a poor diet. That is rare in athletes for obvious reasons. Type 1 however, is genetic. I think. I'm not a medical expert of any sort.

Actually identical twins are more likely to get type 2 (80-90%) than type 1 (30-40%). No one really knows what causes it and the going theory is that it might be a viral infection during childhood. Oh and Cutler will probably have to do the whole 4 injection thing a day otherwise it'll be really hard for him to control his weight.

                          Sucks though. Damn.

See i thought Type 1 was the one you get at childhood. Seems kinda late in life for Culter to develop type 1.
