Cedric Benson Arrested

Cedric Benson was reportedly arrested early Sunday in Texas for boating while intoxicated and resisting arrest. He is currently free on bond.

"Just what he needs. And this isn't Benson's first infraction; he was found guilty of breaking into a woman's house as a collegiate in '04. It wound up costing him time in the Del Valle Correctional Facility. He was arrested in 2002 on marijuana charges. The reason for Sunday's arrest is uncertain."

The biggest problem I see is Forte being handed the job instead of feeling he has to work for it. Also would've been nice to get a mid to late round pick for Benson, but that's doubtful now.

I doubt they will cut him but man is he on a thin line now. When you have to be subdued by the police with pepper spray and still refuse to listen to them, it spells trouble.

Well, if he doesn't somehow manage a breakout year now, he's almost assuredly cut.

I don't think this incident is a big deal. DUI while driving a boat? How dangerous can he be on a yacht? I know the refusal to comply with the police is a problem, but I don't think this by itself would destroy his career. His horrific play wil kill it.

I think he can still be a good NFL running back. I refuse to believe yet that the guy who ripped up the Texas field for 4 years sucks this much. I think his offensive line is not doing him much justice.

Behind that O-line? I wouldn't touch any running back on the Bears at all.

I don't anticipate Forte' being a much better RB than Benson behind that O-line. Plus they lost Moosh and Berrian, and no one is afraid of getting beat by Grossman so they'll probably stack the box.

I think has more to do with Cedric Benson having no second gear than the offense line.
