Spygate Over?

After meeting with ex-Patriots video assistant Matt Walsh for three and a half hours Tuesday and reviewing the tapes Walsh presented, the NFL will not further penalize the Patriots regarding the SpyGate affair.

"According to commissioner Roger Goodell, Walsh claimed there was no Rams Super Bowl walkthrough tape, he never saw such a tape, and that Walsh was on the sidelines during the practice in full Patriots gear. Other than filming signals, Walsh said he knew of no other cheating by New England. Walsh did say the Pats allowed players on injured reserve to practice, which is against league rules, and that players scalped Super Bowl tickets. Goodell says the NFL will look into those issues, but has no plans to take action. This appears to be the end of SpyGate, finally."

Yes, there was no "video tape" of the Rams walk-through by Walsh. No, there is no evidence which indicates Walsh or anyone else from the Patriots coaching staff "video taped" the Rams walk-through.

However, there is information that indicates Walsh was present during the Rams walk-through, and while he did not "video tape" the proceedings, Walsh extracted two things from the Rams walk-through which he relayed to the Patriots coaching staff.

1. He noticed Marshall Faulk was lined up as a kick-returner during several kick formations.

2. He noticed the TE roll a certain way when the defense was in a certain formation.

So, while Walsh did not "video tape" the Rams walk-through, Walsh still relayed scouting information to the Patriots staff moments before kickoff in Super Bowl XXXVI, which allowed the Patriots to adjust accordingly before a single snap was made. I'd say that's quite an advantage when your opponent is unaware that you have knowledge of this aspect of their game plan. Can someone tell me what's the difference between "video taping" another teams walk through and watching the walk through, then relaying the information verbally to your employer?

Here in Australia back in our 2004 Election the incumbent won pretty much because the public couldn't tell the difference between his and his opposition's policies so they just kept the old guy in. Here in Australia back in our 2004 Election the incumbent won pretty much because the public couldn't tell the difference between his and his opposition's policies so they just kept the old guy in. I do believe that the American democrats are about as liberal as Europe's conservative parties. But yes, there tends to be a big difference between the two parties in the American political system. :P

They are all the same when it counts.Selfish, corrupt, rich, uncaring about anything that doesnt concern themselves directly, law breakers, and extremely hipocriticle. It's a pothetic government that is as terrible as the corrupt law enforcement. Be glad you live in Australia where your politicians at least have a soft spot for the people.

I agree. Hank Steinbrenner is the Sith Lord ruling over the Evil Empire (That isnt far from toppling) and we dont need to hear about how how the New England Patriots are trying to steal his spot.
