Anything that produces a 16-game playoff is something I'd be in favor of.

Sixteen teams will take meaning and juice away from some big regular season games. I want to see playoffs but sixteen is a lot.

Sixteen is nothing. It's a lot less than the number of teams who play bowl games every year and it's only a six team increase over the current BCS games.

The regular season doesn't mean much right now anyway... think about it, once a team loses a game, they have nothing to play for. For example, if Team X is 8-3, they have nothing to play for in their 12th game. But with an at-large bid on the line, 9-3 could make all the difference.

If the 2nd ranked team plays the 4th ranked team late in the year, all those teams have to do is not fall past rank 16.

This is not using scar’s system which is better.

That's true. Keeps a lot more excitement at more colleges.

I would assume in a sixteen team playoff system that rank would go out the window and records would take over along with a set of tiebreakers. It's the only way a playoff system could stave off the controversy facing the BCS right now.

I really like this. But wouldn't you have to divide it all into like 2 conferences? North and South, East West something like that? Also I think they could add a plus one game for the bowls. Like take the 2 conference losers and play them in the Rose Bowl because that's one of the biggest arguments against a college playoff is that the bowl games lose their value.

Also I like how the big ten is divided into OSU and Michigan divisions...hilarious.

there would still be bowls for the teams not in the playoffs and the final games in the tournament (double elimination) will be called bowls. like Rose bowl for the 7th place game. it would give us a defined top 16.

16 team playoff would be a waste of time. The #8 team in the country wouldn't stand a chance in a playoff.

4 team playoff based off the top 4 teams in the BCS, first round matchups can not be in-conference.
                            2014-2015 Kentucky Wildcats (38-1)

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

That doesn't leave enough excitement for enough colleges which was the aim of the BCS and the reason there isn't already a playoff in place so this idea isn't really feasible.
