  • Giant's sign Shane Olivea

Their backup tackle last year, Guy Whimper, played well when he had the chance and his very athletic so I think will continue to backup Diehl. I hear Olivea could also play guard as well as backup McKenzie so I really like this signing.

Olivea isn't a great starting tackle, but he's experienced and is an excellent backup for us at RT. Great pickup by the Giants. =D

The Jets should've gotten him instead of Woody. Woody is gonna be a joke in pass protection.

Olivea has injury issues though. That's the main reason the Chargers released him. I wouldn't be comfortable thrusting him into a starting gig unless I knew he was 100% healthy, which he may not be.

You say that as if he's going to start.

Andre Carter plays Right End. Olivea would play Right Tackle. They wouldn't match up anyway. =P

Jets won't sign him because of his character issues. Hell he's lucky the league lifted his 4 game suspension.

I bet quite a few teams would start Olivea. Nice move.
