  • Hester holding out

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3502200

Wouldnt he stand to make more money by playing this year as a WR to prove his value?
    Bears offseason wish list:

Jay Cutler, I am good, for now.

Wow Hester should be proving he's worth the money he thinks he deserves, not no showing. That's completely illogical.

Let him holdout. Hes a returner. He is replacable.

He gives the Bears 2-3 extra victories himself.

Hester is more than a player is is one of the faces of the Bears and brings excitement to the fans and scares opposing teams. I can't argue with him wanting more than $445,000. He might as well do it now before he shows that he can't do this every year.

Hester should hold out. He might be the best player on their team. He's the best returner in NFL history. I'd hold out.

If you're the Bears, you're in a quandary, though. How much IS Devin Hester worth?

I'd personally give him something around 1.5 million a year with escalators dependent on his production as a WR.

Hester is the Bears entire Offense. Unless Forte shows up and makes a huge impact it will stay that way.

Regardless, he is first and foremost a kick returner so he really should up his production at receiver before he decides to hold out.

I think the closest thing they have to go on is Randle El's contract, his was also based on a good return guy that could play a little WR, but Antwaan actually caught some balls before getting paid. His contract is way too much for a return specialist that might play a little WR.

Randle El is a more versatile player than Hester. I think they should look at Dante Hall's contract back when he was good and adjust for NFL inflation.

But Hester is the best return man ever so he going to need a bigger contract than Hall had even ajusted for inflation the guys a return machine he would get some huge deals on the open market
