Haha I'm not doubting he put on 20 pounds, just "20 pounds of muscle" sounds pretty shady.

    Doubtful.

My guess would be that it is 20 pounds higher than his playing weight from last year, which was probably reported at the beginning of the seaon.

Adding 20 lbs in a year for a teenager who is still growing, and now has access to D-1 training regimens, diet and weight.

Hell, I gained 20 lbs in a year when I got my first desk job, however not all of that was muscle!

    1) He just finished his true freshman year, and has 2 more years to gain weight

    2) It's unfair (and inaccurate) to compare a true frosh with an NFL player

    3) Reggie Bush weighed 180 coming out of Helix High in 2003

    4) Pete Carroll said on College Football live that Joe has already put on 20 pounds of muscle

    5) This is confirmed by the USC player roster at WeAreSC, which lists Joltin' Joe at 200 lbs

    Care to revise your estimate?
