Favre doesn't even want to be a Jet. Mortensen is saying right now that he would have preferred to go the Bucs and the Packers just pulled the trigger on this deal without even asking Favre. Watch him just pull a Jake Plummer.

Well if he fails to report the trade is null and he goes back to Green Bay. It's his "no-trade" clause.

Yeah I thought he had a lot of say-so in this trade. Otherwise I don't see the point.

He could have been traded to the Bucs, he retires again, and the Packers end up with nothing for Favre in compensation.

I could still be right on this (holding on for dear life) at least with him not wanting to play for the Jets.

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

One this with this Favre ordeal is to expect the unexpected. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he fails to report to the Jets.

Nice call by the Tampa tribune. They said Favre would be a Buc within the next 24 hours. Way to get Buc fans hopes up.

NFL Network is saying here’s the compensation

Right now it’s a fourth rounder.

If Favre plays 50% of snaps in 08 its a third rounder.

If Favre plays 70% of snaps in 08 and they make the playoffs its a second rounder.

If Favre plays 80% of snaps and they make the Super Bowl, it’s a first round pick

Tannebaum loves trades with conditional picks, lol

So it is most likely a 3rd rounder.

PACKERS CAN GET A FIRST-ROUND PICK
Posted by Mike Florio on August 7, 2008, 12:51 a.m.
Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Packers will receive a first-round pick for quarterback Brett Favre, but only if the Jets win the Super Bowl.

The Packers get a fourth-round pick for Favre. It becomes a third-round pick if Favre takes 50 percent of the snaps. It moves to a second-rounder if Favre participates in 70 percent of the plays and the Jets qualify for the playoffs.

Finally, the pick goes to a first-rounder if Favre takes 80 percent of the snaps and the Jets make it to the Super Bowl.

Of course, if the Jets make it to the Super Bowl, it would be the 31st or 32nd selection in the draft.

Curiously, there’s no evidence yet of any term that would dissuade the Jets from re-trading Favre to another team, such as the Vikings. We would have insisted on something like two first-round picks if the Jets had sent Favre to the Vikings, Bears, or Lions.

So since you think the Jets suck so bad they will make the playoffs?

I think Favre could throw so many INTs he could be a candidate for MVP too.
