Prior to today they didn't have a 3rd which they gave up for Eric Weddle to Chicago and a 4th which they used on Paul Oliver in the supplemental draft.

I don't like this trade for the Chargers. Chambers has underperformed this season and a 2nd rounder is a lot considering I don't see how this team can beat the Patriots or Colts in the Playoffs.

Chambers has underperformed because he's had absolute dogs as his QBs. Randy Moss underperformed in Oakland with Aaron Brooks, Andrew Walter and Kerry Collins.

Good point, but I like to see teams build through the draft. History has shown that trading high day one picks comes back to bite you.

THis is a nice trade for SD, they get a much needed upgrade at WR, which will help take the pressure off Rivers.
