I've always thought he would fit in well in Oakland. He can tutor Russell and play when he gets healthy.
And Tampa didn't sign him. YAY!!!
Any other thoughts...
Looks like Culpepper's going to be the sacrificial lamb behind that horrendous offensive line until they fix it up. Culpepper takes a lot of sacks and fumbles too much, so Oakland's offense could once again be pretty pitiful.
It doesn't make sense to me. I guess they think they have a better shot of winning with Daunte Culpepper rather than Josh McCown. Maybe they do, but it's still a long shot with a horrible o-line, no running game, mediocre receivers and a non-existent pass protection.
Exactly. Everyone knows they will win under 5 games so why bring in another QB. This move, like a lot of Oakland's moves lately, leave me scratching my head.
Davis should accept defeat and play for the draft. They're not going to win many games, so they should just flop. Like Houston did when they should've drafted Bush.
I guess, but that's what they planned to do with Josh McCown.
Lol to me it could be they have Walter, McCown and Culpepper because it will only be a matter of time before one gets injured and then all three end up on IR due to the that offensive line, so Russell may have to eventually step in....
In all seriousness good move by the Raiders. Gives Culpepper a chance to prove himself and means with yet another well known veteran signed Russell has even less attention on him and the chances of him being thrown in early are even slimer.
