So College Gameday is travelling to Williamstown, MA to cover Amherst vs. Williams....anyone know anything about this? Is this some big Division 3 rivalry?

This is the big D III match up. These two schools are the top two liberal arts colleges according to US News and World Report. Williams is number one. It is also the number one athletic school in D III: it has received the directors cup (given to the best D III athletic school) for 9 years in a row. Amherst started when some disgruntled profs stole half the library and ran a few miles south east of Williamstown, MA. This rivalry is 122 years old. That, my friends, is the oldest football rivalry in America. These kids are also incredibly smart. They will go on to become doctors, lawyers and I-bankers. They are playing for the love of the game. And plus, it's Williams' homecoming. The atmosphere will be electric and you shouldn't hate on Gameday just because of it's location.

I'm not hating on Gameday I was just asking a question. I like that they are going somewhere different. But I wish they explained something about the location, teams, etc. on the website.

No, but I am intrigued by it concerning the history of the game and this is a very intense rivalry.

A little open-minded thinking candyman, I mean Cal-USC sorta gets old after well. New programs/environment for CGD is a little refreshing.

This game sucks! Mount Union owns D-III if it's not Mount Union who cares when it come to D-III football. I don't respect any college football teams that would get owned by my former highschools freshman team by 50.
