  • Should/Would Moss stay in NE for 2008

There's a bit rattling around now about how much Randy Moss could pick up as a free agent next year. So, that got me thinking, with all the publicity that Moss has had as a patriot (and success) would it actually make better financial sense to stay with the Pats.

He might not get as much salary, but he would potentially get more in endorsements. Plus of course, maybe he likes winning.

I think he'll stay with New England.

I think he should, if only out of gratitude for what the Patriot organisation has done to revitalise his career. For those of you thinking, "He was always a great wide-out" well, just remember where he was taken in your fantasy drafts this year, and think about where he'll be next year (if he stays with the pats).

I think he is addicted to the Patriots franchise. Once players enter that team they don't come back because they love playing for Belicheck and they love to win. What situation could Randy Moss be happier in? He's got money, and if he can keep a good public image there are all kinds of endorsement deals in the Northeast.

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

He won't leave. He made the mistake of leaving the Vikings for money and suffered in Oakland for two long years. He wants to win.

Just to go against the grain, and for the sake of being argumentative, he doesn't have to stay. He could be like A-Rod. He could just want to get that ring. If he gets a super bowl ring this year, it would basically be the icing on the cake. He is having an insane year. So, maybe he will go to a team that will offer a mammoth contract?

For all sake, I agree with Matt that he is addicted. Everybody wants to win. What better team to play then Tom Brady and the Patriots?

Does anyone out there know what sort of endorsement deals Moss would be getting? I think his current Pats contract pays him about 3 mill this year, but surely with the exposure of being a (possible) Superbowl champ, he could cash in Peyton Manning style and spend more time on tv during timeouts.

So yes, he could go for a T.O. style 30mill something 3 year contract, and probably lose a lot of marketability and statistical success. Or he could stay on for probably about half and maybe make way more money elsewhere.

Here is a possible scenario. Remember Deion Sanders back in the 1990s? Signed with the 49ers for 1 year and helped them beat the Cowboys and then the folowing year signed a big deal with the Cowboys.

I could see the same thing happening with Moss and Indy. Harrison is on his last legs and Indy could pull off the Cowboy move and sign Moss to beat the Pats the following year.

He's finally found a QB on a team that he likes (and one who throws to him). Not only that, but his team in winning! What more could he want?n (And, moneys not the issue here)

Well Moss is a big fan of Brady for one, but for a much bigger reason... the Colts have no cap room! They didn't let The Edge, June, ands both starting corners leave last year for no reason. The Colts have less cap room than any other team in the NFL.
