  • Might as well make a whole section for these...

It's pretty embarassing for ESPN to have such a butcher of the English language on their primetime NFL show..

    On Sunday NFL Countdown:

"That would definitely be a slowed down"

Can someone satisfactorily explain why Emit is a commentator. I know he was a great running back, but, he can't speak. Thank god he's not allowed near the play-by-play stuff.

Things I'd look for (in order) in a sportscaster.
      1) Understandable (it doesn't matter what you have to say if you can't say it)
      2) Relatively good command of the english language (he doesn't have to be Shakespeare, but personal hate, how any back over 220lbs is always "rumbling" for a gain, for god's sake think of something new)
      3) Game knowledge
      4) Stories (past players often have great stories about locations and such, which can really fill in a dead period of play)

And of course, the number one requirement for a sideline reporter, "hotness."

But, a person like that doesn't have name recognition, which is all somebody like FOX or CBS cares about

I don't even watch MNF anymore because Kornheiser is so bad. I mean I don't really see a big difference between he and Dennis Miller.

Congrats to Wisconsin. Even more congrats to UK haters.

Yeah, Emmit Smith should learn English before he goes on TV

I love Kornheiser on PTI, but I don't think he brings much to the Monday Night Football broadcast.... yet again, I love John Madden on it. Stupid or not that man is DAMN entertaining.

Speaking of Madden, can he ever talk about Antonio Gates without mentioning his "basketball moves." Every single Chargers game its the same. But without those little idiosyncrasies, he just wouldn't be Madden. The big problem this year has been the sheer unadulterated amount of Favre man-love going on. Yes, he's having a great year, but he's not Jesus.

I paid Vinatieri $10 bucks and let him use my sister to throw that game. He accepted.

The thing is, ESPN has no standards. The only qualification needed to become an ESPN expert is to be a former football player. I saw Shaun King and Marcellus Wiley on there the other day.
